Moustheni paths and waterfalls

Heading towards the southwest of Eleftheroupoli, you will come across several villages with their common feature of dense vegetation and running water.
The toponyms mix myth with history and today: Chrysokastro, Mesia, Melissa, the Court named after the Thracian hero "Hippea Avloneitis", the Apiary, Pyrgochori, the Rooms, the "United States ", as the locals call the villages of Mesotopo, Karavangeli, Dimara and Sidirohori, and Platanotopos.

Moustheni captivates you with the arched bridges that connect its neighborhoods, the traditional stone-built houses in the color of ocher and blue and the old Turkish school with the inscription in Arabic.

Mesoropi, literally hidden in the arms of the Pangaeus, with its imposing 19th century mansions, the watermill, the stone fountains and bridges, the characteristic shady squares for coffee or food and the pond at Nivrios place, enchants even the most demanding from the start visitor. The well-maintained trail of Mesoropi starts through the village, characterized by abundant water that forms small waterfalls and lakes in a three and a half hour route.
